Craft Beer & Wine
From breweries to wine tastings, you'll find the perfect glass waiting for you in Frankenmuth.
Brewing’s in our blood here. So, while you won’t find a taproom on every corner, what you’ll gladly trade it for is a place steeped in 150-plus years of award-winning brewing tradition. The stuff that's brewed at the Frankenmuth Brewery, America’s oldest microbrewery, will have you coming back every season just to taste how the pours shift with them. (Order winter’s Christmas Town Ale or fall’s Märzen-style Oktoberfest Lager, and thank us later!)
Sample a selection of German beer at Bavarian Inn Restaurant, 20 craft handles at Zehnder’s Tap Room, or 17 Mitten-made brews on tap at Michigan on Main. The warm-weather Schnitzelbank Biergarten in front of Bavarian Inn Lodge is a must-stop, May to October — and our 16-person PedAle Trolley will have your whole crew biking through town, craft brews in-hand!
Looking for a place to drink your grapes? Build a flight made from fruit grown along the Lake Michigan shoreline at Michigan’s most-awarded winery, St. Julian. Experiment with fruit-infused, made-to-be-mixed wines at Modern Craft, or artisan ones off the Traverse Wine Coast at Black Star Farms.
Cozy up at Prost’s outdoor firebar (or inside its European-style digs) to try their global wine selection, including six on tap. Build-your-own charcuterie boards with all the accompaniments? You can bet they’re here, too (and they’re delicious).
But, don’t pack that souvenir glass collection ‘til you’ve found Frankenmuth FunShips. There are riverboat cruises to be taken, and (most importantly) wines to be sampled on-board. So, how about a little Peach & Honey vino to go with those sunset river views?
