Experience the sights, smells, sounds, and other senses of Munich in Michigan's Little Bavaria…September 19th-22nd.

A Hint of History

In 1996, Lord Mayor Christian Ude of Germany, as well as the German parliament officially sanctioned the Frankenmuth Oktoberfest celebration, coining it as the only city outside of Munich to receive such an honor. In homage, Munich-based brewer Hofbrauhaus became the festival’s official sponsor, making this the first city in the U.S. to import the German beer. Frankenmuth has been honoring this tradition ever since.
