German Worship Service – Nov. 9th
On Sunday, Nov. 9th, St. Lorenz’s monthly German worship service will be held at 11:00 am in the Church - 1030 W. Tuscola Rd, Frankenmuth. The Beatitudes Sermon Series, “A Beatitude Attitude,” reaches its conclusion in this service. The final Beatitude focuses on persecution as part of the Christian life. Our daily courage and sure hope rest on Jesus’ promised presence, power, and deliverance with Jesus’ words of “Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Selig sind, die um der Gerechtigkeit willen verfolgt werden; denn ihrer ist das Himmelreich). German language schoolteacher Bärbel Stürmer and her 6th-grade students, including Isabelle Alma, Ariaya Boese, Hope Bond, Noah Bue, Ava Burdanovicz, Adyson Danielson, Amelia Feinauer, Chad Hill, Eden Johnson, Bennett Kroeger, Braxton List, Ryan Pittenger, Anna Przybyla, Tyler Trudell, Elyse Walter, and Lilly Weiss, will read the scripture lessons. The service features German liturgy and an English sermon entitled “Blessed? Yes!!” by Pastor Bill Hoesman based on Matthew 5:10. A solo “Wer Gott vertraut, hat wohl gebaut” (Who Trusts In God, A Strong Abode) will be sung by Lynn Zeddies and the congregation will join in singing favorite hymns: “Jesus, meine Zuversicht” (Jesus Christ, My Sure Defense), “Mache dich, mein Geist, bereit” (Rise My Soul To Watch and Pray), and “Ach bleib bei uns, Herr Jesu Christ” (Lord Jesus Christ, With Us Abide).
The service will be broadcast locally on Spectrum/Charter cable channel 191. It can also be viewed via the St. Lorenz website (Media - Traditional Worship), the St. Lorenz app, and the Frankenmuth-Gunzenhausen Facebook page.
The next German worship service will be held on December 14, 2025. Let us remain steadfast in our faith, even in the face of adversity, which will lead to eternal blessings in heaven.
