Ahh, the fresh smell of clean, summer, Pure Michigan air is upon us. We have waited for months – and what feels like years – to feel the warm breeze through our hair and sun on our skin.

If you’ve been to Frankenmuth, chances are, you’ve tasted our world-famous chicken and shopped in the world’s largest Christmas store, but in light of our current situation, it’s a great time to get outside and explore something new in Michigan’s Little Bavaria.

All of our restaurants offer take-out, and we encourage you to call in your order at your favorite place and find the perfect picnic spot in one of our 18 green, grassy parks.

Pack a picnic blanket and extra napkins for the kids and dine right beside the Cass River, definitely a view only a picnic can provide. You are sure to see kayakers, ducks, and possibly a turtle or a deer getting a cool crisp drink. The best part is, your kids are free to “run around the table” as much as they please and crawling on the floor is encouraged.

Enjoy your meal beside the majestic Cass River.

Heritage Park has pavilions with picnic tables for rent if you're looking to host a big family gathering outdoors. There are grills available as well, so make a stop at Willi’s Sausage or Kern’s for authentic Frankenmuth brats and cook up your own German feast. Just on the other side of the river lies the Cass River Boat Launch. Here, you can find picnic tables to set up a quaint dinner outdoors. Or venture over to Memorial Park where you'll find picnic tables spread throughout the area!

The unmistakable Bavarian architecture will make the perfect dinner backdrop.

Enjoy family time outside.

Don't stress about dinner. Find something in Frankenmuth.

Take a look at our restaurants offering to-go options so you can order, then explore Frankenmuth. Most places even have online ordering, making tonight's meal planning a breeze.
