That means riverboat cruises even dreamier than you can imagine. Kayaking tours where you can paddle under our iconic Covered Bridge, or photo ops where you’ll pose on it with a birds-eye view over the water. There’s good catch here too, friend — just find the Fish Way and suddenly you’re spending an entire day dropping a line in while you drink in the scenery.
Discover the top ways to enjoy a day on the waterfront in Frankenmuth:
Take a ride on the Bavarian Belle, an authentic paddlewheel riverboat with a narrated tour from a local expert. This seasonal activity is one of the most popular ways to get to know Frankenmuth.
Frankenmuth FunShips also offers more intimate 12-person boat rides with wine and chocolate tour options too!
Kayaking & Canoeing
View Frankenmuth from a whole new perspective as you paddle the winding twists and turns of the Cass River. Frankenmuth Kayak Adventure offers guided tours, kayak and canoe rentals for self-guided touring. This is a fun and easy activity for the whole family. Look for scenic views of our famous Bavarian rooftops, covered bridge, birds, and wildlife.
In 2015, the original Frankenmuth Dam was replaced by a Fish Way, which better supports the walleye, sucker, and sturgeon populations. At the Fish Way, anglers will find boat launches and plenty of opportunity to snag bass, bluegills, pumpkin seed sunfish, northern pike, and catfish. Those aged 17 and older will need a fishing license to drop a line.
