German Worship Service at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church

On Sunday, October 11th, St. Lorenz’s monthly German worship service will be held at 11:00 am in the Church - 1030 W. Tuscola Rd., Frankenmuth. The service focus is on the Festival of the Reformation. Five hundred and three years ago, Martin Luther’s powerful Scripture based witness made a blessed Law/Gospel impact on the society of his time. Today, we face societal change, challenge AND opportunity with the same foundation and power of God’s Word. Praying our individual and collective witness make a blessed impact in our time. The communion service will use our traditional German Service liturgy and Pastor Bill Hoesman will preach the sermon “A Forever Fortress” based on Ps.46:7. Emily Haubenstricker will sing a solo "Alles ist an Gottes Segen" (All Depends On Our Possessing) and the congregation will join in singing favorite hymns including; "Ein feste burg ist unser Gott" (A Mighty Fortress is Our God), and "Erhalt uns, Herr, bei deinem Wort" (Lord, Keep Us Steadfast in Thy Word).

The service will also be available on Charter cable channel 191, on the St. Lorenz app., and livestreamed on the St. Lorenz website at: http://stlorenz.org where you click on the ‘Media’ tab on the top of the home page and then click on the ‘Traditional Services’ box on the left. Prior German worship services can be viewed on the St. Lorenz website under the ‘Media’ tab either under the ‘Traditional Services’ box or for older services in the file labeled ‘Archive: German Services’ found further down the page on the right. The next German worship service will be November 8th, 2020. We look forward to you joining us for worship. Gottes Segen!
