The warm and joyful feeling that comes along with the holidays is needed this year more than ever. It’s a time to rejoice and celebrate, even if things may be a bit different. Just like guests gather around the table at one of Frankenmuth’s world famous chicken dinner restaurants, the holidays have a way of bringing people together. Local Frankenmuth businesses and organizations have come together this year to make sure Christmas in Michigan's Little Bavaria is like you've never seen before.

The sound of the horse carriages jingling all the way and the smells of the candy shops remind us to enjoy the simple things this time of year, especially after the year it has been. Businesses have worked tirelessly to provide safe environments for guests to enjoy, and this Winter will be no different. Explore our small businesses to discover the perfect gift thoughtfully selected by the owner working the floor. Servers at restaurants are waiting with smiles behind their masks to provide you the opportunity to sit and enjoy time together.

While some traditions may be on hold, Frankenmuth’s Christmas Experience promises to bring new traditions and memories to life for years to come. The long running Holiday Celebration & Candlewalk will not be a part of the holiday activities in Frankenmuth this year. Instead, guests can enjoy a full season of fun, spreading multiple events and activities throughout town during November and December, rather than just a single weekend. (But the telling of the Christmas story by local clergy in Frankenmuth will be available online!)

When strolling the stone sidewalks this Winter, guests will notice a glow throughout town as the trees lining Main Street light a path from one end of the city to the other. If the light-wrapped trees are the guide from one shop to another, then our new spectacular 40 ft. tree will be the beacon.

This unique experience will come to life this holiday season in Zehnder Park with a music and lights show. The show will commence every day at the following times – 11:30am, 2:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm and 8:30pm – with a bonus show on Fridays & Saturdays at 9:30pm. The tree will also remain lit for photos during non-show times so guests can capture a family photo to remember their trip. The new tree show is nestled in closely with the cherished nativity to remind us of the reason for the season. With all these showtimes, you can visit Frankenmuth when it works best for you and still enjoy the full Christmas experience.

With the addition of this new tree, there will no longer be a live tree at the Visitor Center Platz. Instead, the Platz will be adorned with new décor that lends to families looking to capture their Frankenmuth memories.

Being home to the world’s largest Christmas store has put our little town of 5,000 on the map, across the United States, and around the world, most recently being named one of the “Best Christmas Towns in America” by Country Living Magazine.

You can explore the magic of the season and our city by utilizing the Frankenmuth Christmas webpage, or pick up the Guide to Christmas brochure and map from the Visitor Center which will display a list of holiday activities, a lights tour, and all the photo-ops across town. These "Stop & Snap" spots are thoughtfully crafted areas perfect for snapping a picture for your holiday card!

Grab your favorite hot chocolate & cookies and enjoy the lights tour in the car with your family or friends. Or stroll the streets and capture the perfect Frankenmuth holiday photo for Instagram! The River Place Shops has happenings all season long to enjoy, and if you venture to Grandpa Tiny’s Farm, you might meet one of Santa’s reindeer.

There’s tons to see and do this holiday season in Michigan’s Little Bavaria, so come visit and come back often! We can't wait to welcome you this holiday season in Michigan's Little Bavaria!

Pro-tip: Come during the week to avoid the crowds!

And as the countdown to Christmas begins, we plan to make this the BEST Christmas this town has seen!
