Outdoor Activities

Explore fun things to do outdoors in Michigan's Little Bavaria.

Ready-in-advance to work off all that world famous fried chicken you’ll order, or those pints you plan on tossing back at Frankenmuth Brewery?

Start at Frankenmuth Aerial Park — a ropes course tucked up in the trees, and the perfect spot to try ziplining in Michigan. Then, drop in on the Cass with Frankenmuth Kayak Adventures (and paddle past iconic sights like the Frankenmuth Covered Bridge or Frankenmuth River Place Shops’ waterfalls).

Your time outdoors can be laid-back, too — like a tour of Frankenmuth on the Bavarian Belle Riverboat, or a dreamy river cruise with Frankenmuth FunShips. (This one’s got options for on-board wine and chocolate tasting, and we’re here for it.)

18 parks offer grassy lawns for picnics, and Heritage Park (a favorite among locals) boasts waterfront views and a Riverwalk loop for walking, running, or biking. You can even fish the Cass River that runs right through the center of town!

Water Activities on The Cass River

We are so lucky to have this beautiful resource in Frankenmuth. Hop on board the Bavarian Belle for a tour of Frankenmuth on an authentic paddlewheel riverboat. Or, take a scenic paddle down the river on a kayak or canoe tour. Anglers can fish for bass, bluegills, pumpkin seed sunfish, northern pike, and catfish on the Cass River too.
