This year’s Bavarian Festival will include a visit to the old country, in 1:87 scale. The Great Lakes Chapter of European Train Enthusiasts (http://www.etegl.org) will be exhibiting part of their award-winning H0 gauge model train layout at Fischer Hall on Friday, June 8 thru Sunday, June 10. The layout will be open to the public from10:00am until 6:00pm on Friday and Saturday and until 3:00pm on Sunday. Admission is free.

The delightful 200 square-foot layout features European trains and scenery that ranges from traditional half-timbered houses and windmills to steam locomotives and bullet trains.  A motorized mechanical toy crane and a play area for kids is also part of the exhibit. The exhibit that will be on display in Frankenmuth will also be on Display at the 2018 National Train Show in Kansas City in August!  The full-size 38′ x 30′ layout received award for exceptional effort and craftsmanship at the NMRA National Train Show held in Grand Rapids in 2011 and again at the NMRA National Train Show held in Cleveland in 2014.

Fischer Hall is located on Main Street in downtown Frankenmuth next to the Frankenmuth Historical Museum. Admission to the layout is free, though donations to the non-profit organization are appreciated.

European Train Enthusiasts, Inc. (ETE) is a North American, 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization focusing on educating the public on the subject of European Railroading.
