German Worship Service – Jan. 13th
St. Lorenz’s first 2019 German worship service will be held on Sunday, January 13th at 11:00 am in the Church, 1030 W. Tuscola Rd., Frankenmuth.
The theme for the January service is how a New Year can offer a fresh start and the Epiphany focus on an increasing awareness of Jesus’ presence that will enable a realistic anticipation of growth of faith and joy being a shining light in a New Year! The service will include an English sermon entitled “God’s Calling in a New Year” by Pastor Bill Hoesman. Greg Rummel will perform a solo “Was Fürchtst Du Feind Herodes Sehr” (The Star Proclaims the King is Here) and the congregation will join in singing favorite hymns including „Lobt Gott, Ihr Christen Allzugleich“ (Praise God the Lord, Ye sons of Men), „Brich Auf und Werde Lichte“ (Arise and Shine in Splendor), „O König aller Ehren“ (O Jesus, King of Glory), and „Die Güldne Sonne” (Evening and Morning).
Upcoming German services are scheduled for Feb. 10th (Heritage service including the St. Lorenz students), Mar. 10th, and April 14th.
