The new guide acts as a planning tool but also has beautiful editorial pieces because – let’s face it – this year, the photographs are outstanding thanks to you, our visitors!

As you flip through the pages, you will notice the use of “fan photos” that have been pulled from Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. So if you are in town enjoying a festival or just strolling down Main Street, all you have to do is snap a cool photo, let us know what you are up to in Frankenmuth and post it on your favorite social network with #Frankenmuth. You never know, you could be featured in our 2021 edition, in a blog post, or on our social media pages!

Ease of use and readability is top of mind when we put together the Visitor Guide.

This year’s guide features a map in the back that folds out, allowing you to find your place and keep on moving to the next stop so you never miss a beat. You'll notice the map is separated by dotted lines which represent the different areas of Frankenmuth. We encourage you to look beyond Downtown to see what else there is to explore, like shops dedicated to delicious meats and cheeses or popcorn, to stores home to unique cuckoo clocks or bird supplies.

Our visitors are always asking us to share more stories about our history, events and more. We’ve incorporated several of these elements throughout the guidebook this year!

Immediately when you open the guide, on page 4, you can learn a little bit about how Frankenmuth came to be and the history of our German heritage.

Flip to page 31 for a look at real comments and stories from you, our visitors! From the first road trip, to falling in love at a festival, these memories from our guests will have you wondering when your next vacation is happening.

The guide’s shape has changed over the years, going from a brochure size to a pocket-friendly booklet.

What hasn’t changed are the valuable listings by category – lodging, eats & treats, shopping and things to do. What has also been added are handy charts showing an “at a glance” view of dining options and hotel amenities. And now EVERY listing has a photo!

We’ve also produced an additional map piece for our guests that just want to carry around a little bit less paper.

Our walking map is a standard brochure size that folds out and opens to a larger map, displaying all lodging, things to do, dining and shopping options in Michigan’s Little Bavaria. On the back, there are quick informational pieces like our major festivals and events, a short history of Frankenmuth, and things to do in a day.

Our beloved Bavarian Bargains Coupon Books are also ready for the taking.

The 2020 Coupon Book has more than 60 special offers to save right here in town and the best part… the Coupon Books are FREE (as well as the Visitor Guides)! Just stop into the Visitor Center anytime to grab one and start saving on your favorite Frankenmuth attractions, restaurants and shops.

In one year, the Frankenmuth Chamber and Convention & Visitors Bureau distributes 200,000 visitor guides and 85,000 coupon books.

The materials are requested from all over the US and parts of Canada by visitors, motor coach companies, meetings, groups and travel agents. The visitor guide is the single best tool you can request – did we mention it’s FREE – before planning your trip to Michigan’s Little Bavaria. The CVB also provides “welcome packets” to groups which includes a visitor guide and coupon book, again, free of charge. Packets can be mailed, dropped off at your hotel in Frankenmuth or picked up at the Visitor Center.
