Dog Days of Summer in Frankenmuth

Frankenmuth offers three pet-friendly lodging options right in town.

Drury Inn & Suites, Frankenmuth Jellystone Camp Resort, and Frankenmuth Motel.

As well as lodging, many of the stores in the beautiful River Place Shops and downtown on Main Street allow dogs inside as well. We understand that your pooch is more than a pet, and we want them to enjoy the vacation as much as you. Some businesses who cannot allow dogs inside the stores leave water bowls out daily so there is no risk of your dog getting dehydrated.

Frankenmuth even has a couple unique shops that offer delicious dog treats and fun accessories, or attractions your dog can enjoy with you.

Hello Cats & Dogs, Pasty Haus, and SugarHigh Bakery. Not to mention, one of our most popular family attractions, the gorgeous Bavarian Belle Riverboat narrated tour, allows dogs on board.

When your furry friend is ready to get some exercise, we have a beautiful dog park, our Hund Platz, that is fenced in and made especially for pups who want to meet, play, and repeat!

We also have 17 more parks throughout town that offer wide open grassy areas to throw a frisbee, play catch, or just soak in some sun and bark at the ducks.

Last but not least, if you haven’t heard, we have an ENTIRE festival dedicated to celebrating man’s (and woman’s) best friend.

This high energy event showcases dogs running, jumping, diving, and retrieving! It also includes competitions such as: Best Costume Contest, 50 yard Doggie Fun Run, Disc Dog Competitions, Wiener Dog Races, Pet Retail Vendors, Dog Bowl King and Queen, Dog Breeds of the World Show, Annual Canine Cruise of the Bavarian Belle River Boat, and DockDogs Competition.
