The Frankenmuth Oktoberfest will celebrate its 27th year of tradition in 2016. Frankenmuth is the first Oktoberfest outside of Munich to be sanctioned by the  Bavarian Parliament and the City of Munich. The tradition dates back to the wedding of King Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen in 1810. The citizens of Munich were invited to attend the festivities held on the fields in front of the city gates to celebrate the happy royal event. Today, the party continues each year. This event will feature 5 German bands, playing continuously starting Thursday at 3:00pm til Sunday at 6pm. German Food, German Beer, Wiener Dog Races, and  Crack’n of the kegs.
