In Frankenmuth, we think it is time to put the TREAT back into your work retreats!

Life is too short to spend your next work-sponsored getaway under fluorescent lights in a stuffy boardroom, only to have some cold meats and cheeses served as hors d'oeuvres next to the cash bar. Just print this out and show it to your boss. Here are several reasons why you need your next work reTREAT in Michigan’s Little Bavaria!

Places to host your meeting

Ok, so you may have to work a little. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be in a unique environment with great food! From a room full of Bavarian charm to a meeting with water front views, and from meeting on the golf course to meeting on the water - Frankenmuth is sure to have the perfect venue for all your meeting needs! Take a look at our full list of meeting venues we offer here in Michigan's Little Bavaria!

Group Dining Options

Whether your group is large or small, we have the perfect places to enjoy delicious food and drinks off the clock. Not to mention, a great portion of our restaurants can take reservations and offer a private room to dine in.

For the full Frankenmuth effect, reserve a lunch or dinner for your group at Bavarian Inn Restaurant or Zehnder’s Restaurant.

Or if you want to try something a little less traditional, check out the new private room, The Side Door Cellar, at Prost! Wine Bar and Charcuterie. It seats up to 20 people at one time and has the ambiance of a high-end European wine bar. Not to mention, they have signature cocktails, delicious meat and cheese boards and seasonal entrees that will make it hard to choose what’s for dinner.

Check out the gorgeous, private dining spaces in the Frankenmuth Brewery. Plus, if it is nice outside, you could request patio seating and enjoy the view of the Cass River. Not only is the Frankenmuth Brewery host to one of the oldest sites in our city, they are also known to be one of Michigan’s Oldest Breweries.

Another noteworthy and out-of-the-box idea, would be to host a brunch, lunch or dinner at the Frankenmuth Farmer Market’s Gathering Barn. The great thing about this location is that not only do you get to enjoy natural light, a beautiful new facility, and an incredible staff…you can also bring in your own food, your own chef, or hire one of their chefs to do a food class in the Artisan Kitchen. They also offer goat’s soap making classes and strudel making classes.

Team Building Ideas

Frankenmuth has so many great attractions to choose from, and there are a few that are really great for team building. During warm weather months, you can take your team to new heights and soar through the trees at Frankenmuth Aerial Park. You’ll enjoy ziplining and ropes courses with the safety of a harness.

Or, if testing your bravery isn’t the challenge you had in mind, how about a test of the wits? Your team will have a blast trying to “make it out in time” at The Great Lakes Escape Game. Now with four different escape rooms, each one a different theme, Black Beard’s Brig, Lucky Duck Speakeasy, The Heist, and Immunity Quest, getting out in 60min is even more fun!

And, if your idea of team building is a little more relaxed, then maybe a trip on the river is the way to go. The Bavarian Belle Riverboat is a 150 seat, paddlewheel boat that serves non-alcoholic beverages and refreshments while a narrative of Frankenmuth plays overhead. This trip lasts an hour and docks in Frankenmuth.

The FunShips Wine and Chocolate Tasting Tours is a delightful trip down the Cass River with a wine tasting a chocolate pairing. There are two FunShips boats and each can hold 12 people each, making it perfect for a smaller group gathering. This docks in Frankenmuth and is you can choose between a 30, 60 or 90 minute tour.

Johnny Panther Quests Adventure Trips are another great river cruise option. Departing Frankenmuth and Saginaw. Featuring the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge and State Game Area. Explore part of the largest watershed and wildlife habitats in the Lower Peninsula. Enjoy bald eagles, beaver, birding, team building, adventure, and more.

You and our team can learn how to roll your very own German pretzel at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. Step by step, you are told the story of how the first pretzel was made, the tradition of the pretzel, and you even get your very own set of pretzel making glasses (the real pros wear these, of course.)
