1. Ice Skating at the Frankenmuth Ice Rink
In case you didn’t hear, The Frankenmuth Ice Rink opened just a few short weeks ago. And while we strongly discourage breaking the ice on the rink itself, we do however recommend skating as the ideal ice breaker for a first date. A lap around the ice, under the twinkling lights is the perfect activity to do with that special person in your life. So tighten up your skates and come on down to Zehnder Park for a fun date on the ice!
2. Little Bavaria’s Driving Lights Tour and Spectacular Tree Show
Nothing is quite as festive as the glowing splendor of Christmas lights and Frankenmuth is full of them! Take your date on a tour to all of the biggest and brightest light displays around the town. “The Little Bavaria’s Little Driving Light Tour '' map, which can be found at the Visitors Center, and takes you on a self guided driving tour where you and your date can take in all of the lighted magic. Be sure to read the poem included with the map to help make the show come to life.
While at the Visitors Center, stay tuned for our Spectacular Tree Show out front, which puts on a dazzling display of 23,000 lights that go to the beat of some of your favorite Christmas tunes.
3. Stay Warm Together With a Cup of Hot Cocoa
The most wonderful time of the year can also be the coldest time of the year as well. Thankfully, Frankenmuth has plenty of options for hot cocoa to help you and your date keep warm while taking your venture around the city. These options include Zak and Mac’s, Le Crêpe du Jour, Cass River Bar and Grill, Bavarian Inn Bakery, Harvest Coffeehouse, Sugar High Bakery, McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, Pasty Haus and N’Orlins Beignets and Coffee. Chocolate is considered by most to be a symbol of love, so make sure you and your date swing by one of these locations.

4. Cheeseboard Making or a Holiday Tasting
Want to show off your culinary side, as well as your expertise as a connoisseur to your date? Frankenmuth has some options for you to do just that throughout the month of December.

Pair your cheese board with a nice glass of wine. There are plenty of options for wines, brews and spirits around Michigan’s Little Bavaria. From the naturally fruit infused wine at Modern Craft Winery, vast selection of spirits at Grand Traverse Distillery & Black Star Farms, the tasting flights at St. Julian’s, to selections that you will “cherish” at the Cherry Republic, neither you nor your date will go thirsty this holiday.

This Holiday season the Bavarian Blacksmith Experience has transformed into the Elves Tinker Workshop. It’s the place where you and your date can not only forge a special edition 2021 decoration for your tree, but you will also be forging a Christmas memory that will last forever.
